The emergence of Vizio LCD flat screen televisions into an already crowded market place over the past 18 months has been a true American success story. From a virtual standing position, in the last year the sales of the Vizio LCD TV have surged ahead of everyone, including businesses such as Samsung and Sharp to become the top supplier of LCD screens throughout the U.S. in the first nine months of 2009.
Yet the story of the Vizio LCD came perilously close to never being written when in 2000, William Wang the founder of Vizio escaped a Singapore Airlines crash. Wang, a Taiwanese immigrant drew strength from this good fortune and went on to create one of the fastest growing American electronics companies of the past few years.
This meteoric rise has meant that Vizio LCD are now instantly recognized as one of the leaders in the American flat screen TV market. The reasons for this are many but primarily we would say it is the value for money they offer. Through ultra efficient management and lean manufacturing processes they present a quality product at a low cost. Due to them not then taking a huge profit on each unit, it means the Vizio LCD can be sold at an incredibly low price for the quality and the hard pressed consumer has appreciated this and spread the word.
If we make a comparison to its more established competitors, what are the advantages to a Vizio LCD TV? It appears that a great deal of planning and customer research has been put into the Vizio LCD range with regards to the features we all want. The ability to use your flat screen TV as a PC monitor is catered for, freeze framing and numerous other picture enhancements and controls are possible and on the High Definition models, multiple HDMI inputs are provided . Another major factor is the outstanding quality of the Vizio LCD picture you get for the price.
Many Vizio LCD TV's are also available in both HD, which is 720px High definition and the best quality that most standard programs are broadcast in at present, or you can opt for the 1080px screen, known as True High definition which we are sure will be the standard in years to come. If you use your TV mainly for watching broadcast programs, a 720p screen is more than adequate for now. The reason for this is very few programs are yet broadcast in 1080p so you will not notice any difference in picture quality above a Vizio LCD 720p. However, if you have an expanding library of BluRay discs or you use your TV for gaming, the majority of these are set to the 1080p standard so it will enhance your experience.
Another outstanding Vizio LCD screen feature is the picture response time, at a rapid 8ms, this means that when there is on-screen motion, you don't get a noticeable time lag and so the picture is always sharp. This is particularly important if you are an avid sports fan and an area where plasma screens have traditionally been better than LCD. All Vizio LCD screens also boast a vast viewing angle of 178 degrees which means you still get a great, crisp view of the picture even if you are not viewing the screen head-on. It is this thought and commitment to providing such a quality product that has led to so many features being included in all Vizio LCD TV's and means you can watch anything you choose in outstanding clarity.
Under Wang's stewardship, Vizio LCD have out-performed all their bigger and more established rivals this year and to have done so from scratch, in such appalling financial conditions, makes it all the more remarkable.
